This site was inspired by and is dedicated to my most faithful, most loving of companions, my Mastiff, Paiute.  He gives me joy each and every day that we are together.

Paiute came to me at the lowest part of my life, when the whole world looked blackest and I didn't think I would be able to keep going.  My Mum had died and she was my best friend, my touchstone in this world.  I was tired of putting on a happy front and contemplated moving on to the next life. Then Pai came into my life and I’ve not looked back nor given up since.  He’s given me the strength to go on.  My Mum was returned to me in Paiute, and thru him I’ve been able to learn to accept, to heal, and to know that no living thing that has ever touched our lives so deeply ever truly departs.

The song, Candle on the Water, is the song I hear when I look at him, when I hold his eyes with mine, and when I stroke his fluffy head. It’s the song that I heard being sung in my head as we drove a 10 week old Paiute to his new home with me, in my Mum’s voice.  And it’s a song that reminds me that no matter what happens, I will now have the strength to deal with it.  All because of Paiute and a soul that returned to me in the form of one of the most loving and beautiful creatures to ever grace my life.

Please take some time and visit the Mastiffs on our In Memoriam page; they have also meant just as much to those that loved them.  Sadly, our beloved babies always seem to leave us too soon, but we will not forget them.  These special dogs have brought joy and happiness into each of the lives they had touched; they are more than 'just dogs', they are truly family members and their loss is felt every day.
